Personal Thoughts: This book was always a favorite at our house, boys and girls alike.  We all had our favorite poems from this book.  My mother firmly believed that if we memorized poems and such when we were younger it would improve our brain capacity for other academic uses, so many of the poems in this book are still well loved and recited at our house.  My favorite was always “Sick”, and I still quote it today!  A fabulous, non-threatening, and engaging way to teach children poetry.
